Dr. DTG is teaming up with @thesilentwatchcompany, @sonofawatch, and @the_covert_crown to bring you this limited edition @breitling Aerospace Evo Night Mission commissioned for select members of the Royal Navy’s Submarine Service (limited to 100 pieces). The Royal Navy Submarine Service launched its first vessel in 1901 and proudly uses the motto “WE COME UNSEEN“ (engraved on the case back along with its logo). The Royal Navy Submariners were critical in both World Wars, and continue operating nuclear-powered submarines in silence today! The #jollyroger at the 9 o’clock position is typically thought of as a pirate flag, but there’s certainly more significance to the Royal Navy’s Submariners. According to @natmuseumrn, the “Royal Navy submarines have been flying the flag for over 100 years in both defiance and in solidarity with the Silent Service. The tradition started in 1914 as Lieutenant Commander Max Horton, the Captain of HMS E9, flew the flag as the boat returned after sinking the German warship SMS Hela. This was Horton’s defiant response to comments of Admiral Sir Arthur Wilson who likened submariners to pirates.” The Royal Navy Submariner logo, or “Dolphins” badge, at the 3 o’clock position features two gold dolphins flanking a central anchor, topped by St Edward’s Crown. It visually communicates stealth, power, and commitment to defending a nation! SEND IT! ~ PRESENT & READY #breitling #wristcheck #watchesofespionage #watchesofinstagram
