I’m excited to feature one of my favorite unit watches that’s not actually a unit watch. It’s the @tf7294foundation Custom “Unit Watch” commissioned through the @chriswardlondon Bespoke Service. The TF-7294 mission is bookended by September 11, 2001, and the last military service member out of Afghanistan on August 31, 2021. That 7,294-day time span is the inspiration for the name! The watch itself is a C63 Sealander GMT and includes subtle, deeply meaningful design elements. I’ve posted about the importance of partnerships, alliances, interoperability, and friendships before. This watch embodies those operational attributes! The TF-7294 crest is positioned at 0200/1400 representing its heritage and lineage to the military command intelligence directorates, colloquially called “The 2 or Deuce.” The spear represents its US Special Operations Command and US Army heritage. The trident represents its US Navy and US Marine Corps family. The GMT model was deliberately chosen to represent the critical need for the joint force (inclusive of US Air Force aviation) to account for multiple time zones and areas of responsibility across all domains. Finally, the black dial was chosen to represent the period of darkness and the cyberspace domain. This watch symbolizes the importance of working relationships and trust, and represents the surgical art and science of defense and national security. Everyone must do their job using the tools they have - knowledge, training, equipment, and elite human performance. As the US Army Special Operation Command says: Sine Pari, meaning WITHOUT EQUAL! SEND IT! ~ PRESENT & READY #watchesofespionage #watcheswinwars #useyourtools #christopherward #awwc
