This is quite literally high-speed! These images were provided by a friend, former unit member colleague, and bona fide U.S. Army Experimental Test Pilot (XP) – Ex Scientia Aeris Potentia! To commemorate their graduation from the highly-selective US Naval Test Pilot School (USNTPS), the class of [redacted] commissioned a one-of-a-kind Unit Speedmaster Pilot’s Watch through Omega’s Modern Unit Watch Program. This Unit Speedmaster, restricted to military flight school graduates, is powered by the 9900 co-axial master chronometer movement with automatic and manual winding for Zero-G environments. The dial differs from the commercial Speedmaster by having a monochrome color scheme, and of course the case back engraving with the USNTPS crest and the XP’s [redacted) name-class number. This XP prefers to wear their Unit Speedmaster on an expandable Kevlar® strap that can easily be adjusted for wear over flight suits and gloves. The elite USNTPS trains the world’s finest developmental test pilots, flight officers, engineers, industry and foreign partners in full spectrum test and evaluation of aircraft and aircraft systems. Located in Patuxent River, Maryland, the USNTPS leads the way in development of modern test techniques and is the aviation gold standard for flight test standardization. It is the only domestic source of rotary wing test pilots, and is the dedicated test pilot school of the U.S. Army. This highly competitive program has graduated more than 90 NASA astronauts to date, and remains one of the most challenging military courses in existence (mic drop). – PRESENT & READY #presentandready #usntps #sendmethedtg #watchesofespionage #woe #wornandwound #hodinkee #idguy #adrianbarker #speedmaster #omega
