I love the @tudorwatch Pelagos 39 just as much as all y’all, and truly believe it to be near perfect. However, this post is about the importance of continuous, lifelong learning. Buckle up! Professional development in the military, intelligence, and law enforcement communities is essential to build expertise, strengthen organizational culture, and prepare leaders for future challenges. This image was sent to me by a friend and colleague whose success in his full-time gig as a Special Agent in the FBI, and side hustle as a LTC in the Army Reserve, relies heavily on persistent professional development. Continuing his professional learning journey fosters critical thinking, enhances readiness, and cultivates adaptive leadership styles to continue competing in complex, continuously evolving operational environments. It ensures leaders can master new technologies, apply best practices, and maintain the strategic initiative! When asked how David McCloskey’s novel, Damascus Station, contributes to his ongoing professional development in the FBI/Army Reserve, Special Agent/LTC [REDACTED], states it “is a fantastic depiction of how critical each link is in the intelligence cycle. It provides a reality check on how complex the operating environment is for the [Intelligence Community], regardless of which theater you find yourself in. It’s also just a badass story.” There you have it! SEND IT! ~ PRESENT & READY #fbi #army #tudor #wwnorton #professionaldevelopment
