A couple months back Dr. DTG and his good buddy, Special Agent [REDACTED], linked-up for some unspecified duty in an undisclosed location where we did some pretty rad stuff (NFI). This duty also set the conditions for an impromptu tool watch photoshoot on the hood of an ATV. Both Pelagos variants shown here (HAWKEYE LHD & FXD M.N.24) are titanium and feature the “Snowflake” design with a 42mm diameter. Similarities abruptly stop there - onto the differences! THICKNESS: the HAWKEYE is thicker at 14.3mm, while the FXD M.N.24 is a thinner 12.75mm. BEZEL: the HAWKEYE has a unidirectional 60-click bezel, and the FXD M.N.24 has a bidirectional 120-click bezel for underwater navigation (which I have not used it for… yet). DEPTH RATING: the HAWKEYE is rated at 500m, and FXD M.N.24 is rated to 200m. CROWN: the HAWKEYE has a 9 o’clock crown orientation (which is pretty epic in my opinion), but the FXD M.N.24 has a traditional 3 o’clock crown orientation. DATE COMPLICATION: the HAWKEYE has a date complication, while the FXD M.N.24 is a no date variant (I know this makes zero sense, may be indicative of inner emotional struggles, and might hit y’all in the feels, but Dr. DTG is squarely on the no date bus). CASE/LUGS: the HAWKEYE has traditional case lugs with spring bar attachments, and the FXD M.N.24 has a military-inspired fixed bar case (no metal bracelets on this one). HELIUM ESCAPE VALVE: the HAWKEYE has a helium escape valve (c’mon man… there’s like 17 people on earth that use that), but the FXD M.N.24 does not have that capability. So, there are some superficial similarities, but I think it’s safe to say these two remarkable watches are quite different. Although, keep in-mind the HAWKEYE’s LHD platform is generally considered a vintage-styled daily wear tool watch, and the FXD is designed to be a bona fide military tool watch intended for operational use. Hope y’all enjoyed getting down in the weeds. As they used to say on the 200 pound TV when I was a kid - THE MORE YOU KNOW! (PS: keep your eyes peeled for a future collab post with @sonofawatch featuring the HAWKEYE!) SEND IT! ~ PRESENT & READY #tudor #hawkriggergear #watchesofespionage #pelagos
