A few months ago, on 30 APR 2026, retired Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (SEAC) Ramón “CZ” Colón-López dropped in for a mentoring session at Kirtland AFB in New Mexico. He’s pictured here reading a quote from his book “Carnivore Leadership” to Airmen at the Airman Leadership School. Now, me being me, the prominent @panerai he’s rockin’ was the first thing I noticed in this photo. Given I had featured CZ’s Panerai variants (plural) last year, I was reasonably confident in my ability to identify the reference he rigged up. But, Dr. DTG wanted certainty, so I reached out to CZ for confirmation. He confirmed it’s his Ref. PAM01312, and did us all a solid by sending a great pic to include for the overlay! Now that’s a watch! If y’all are looking for an awesome read, I highly recommend CZ’s book, “Carnivore Leadership.” There’s very few people on this planet that can speak to the fundamentals of leadership better than CZ. His lens, experience, and perspective are simply unmatched. And, for what it’s worth, he’s just a great human! I’ll close out this post with one of CZ’s responses to a question I asked him back in December. Essentially, I asked what advice he’d give his younger self, and his response was rapid, direct, and without hesitation: “join SOF faster; finish your education sooner; and prioritize your family better!” My man cut right to it! I think many of us on the net share similar retrospective convictions! @therealczcolonlopez you’re the man! Thanks for the assist on the watch, brother!
