Happy 251st birthday to the @usarmy! The U.S. Army, Department of Defense, and Republic has overcome the unthinkable, captured lessons learned, and evolved into the superior force it is today. The ongoing maintenance and repair of our Army is not unlike this vintage @rolex GMT “Pepsi” (Ref. 1675) preparing for a Blackhawk jump. This loyal DTG’er’s grandfather purchased the GMT-Master featured here from a PX in Korea around the mid-1960s. It then sat in the family’s jewelry box for decades after his passing. Our DTG’er’s brother recently had it professionally restored.. Over thanksgiving 2025, he and his brother swapped watches, and shortly there after, the brother was sent this photo to which he replied, “Are you jumping static line?? You better not be jumping my watch with a round canopy.” Our loyal DTG’er cannot confirm nor deny if this watch is now Airborne Qualified. Thanks for sending this rad photo and story in, brother! The point here is, not unlike this vintage Ref. 1675, the U.S. Army is resilient, persistently course correcting, carrying its scars with honor and pride.
