BLUF: the rare, exclusive @omega Seamaster Professional unit watch (the Unit SMP) featured here is not the coolest thing in this photo, nor is the pre-unit green beanie or military free fall parachutist badge. Some years back, [REDACTED] harvested a large scrap of metal from a HMMWV that had been hit by an IED downrange in Baghdad, Iraq. A buddy of his in the unit transformed that gnarled up piece of scrap into the epic hatchet you see here. Even the backing wood of this meaningful gift was repurposed from an old torn down gazebo behind the team house where he and his buddies would sit and solve the world’s problems. I tell ya, the older you get the more you realize everything can (and should) have meaning if you’re setting the conditions for an open mind and creative thinking. Pretty rad!
