A couple days ago I received an unsolicited swag pack from my @antiwatchwatchclub compadres based out in the Show-Me Stare’s Gateway to the West. Included in my bag-o-swag was a handwritten note welcoming me to drop-in when I’m in town, reminding me to be safe, and thanking me (wait, shouldn’t that be the other way around)! I’m the one that should be thanking this class act (which I’ve thanked them a lot). Here’s the thing, rad hardware and cool tools are, well, pretty epic. But nothing, and I mean nothing, can replace or supplant having the right people. They don’t tell you about relationships you’re going to build and community you’ll join when you’re just starting out in a tenuously-controlled’ish tool watch (and strap) obsession. But it’s the people and community that truly matters, and it applies to EVERYTHING! It’s easy to get wrapped up in the hardware, but I challenge you all to live the #1 SOF Truth everyday: HUMANS ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN HARDWARE. It states the quality of personnel, training, and team cohesion is more critical to mission success than equipment. It emphasizes that dedicated, highly trained operators can succeed with limited gear, whereas elite equipment cannot compensate for unqualified people. This is the way! SEND IT! ~ PRESENT & READY #truth #watch #people #thursday
